LDT 2008 bug and work around...

Just found a bug in LDT 2008, yes that is Land Desktop 2008!  Kind of annoying bug too!

What we have found is that if you try to insert pts into LDT 2008 and you have a description key for the pts, the problem is that the points will come in but they don't grab the corresponding block/symbol!  Not good!

But the workaround is not too difficult!

1.) First you will probably find that your search path for the symbol blocks is set to look in the LDT 2005 folder, which first must be corrected. But this doesn't fix the problem!

2.) The issue is that they have found that the block/symbols must be in the dwg before you import points. Meaning that you need to manually insert each and everyone of the cogo blocks.  Not fun if you need to do this every time you want to import points.

3.) Tip: Create a second dwg and in this file manually insert each cogo block that you use in your description keys and then save this somewhere safe and easy to find for everyone or maybe make this a .dwt file and have LDT put this in your default template folder and the next time you start a new dwg make sure you select this new .dwt file with all of the cogo blocks.  (These can be deleted but just don't purge).

Hope this helps?
