C3D 2008 - Plan and Productions bugs or design flaws.... you be the judge.

New alert!

Two little flaws I have found in C3D 2008 Plan and Production. One I have a work around for the other well is just annoying and there is no real easy work around.

1.) When you create your P&P sheets have a look at the bottom of the profile viewport, tell me what you don't see?.......... you don't see the stationing!  Assuming you are like me and LDT and place your stationing below your EG/FG profile text band. Just like in LDT the Stationing is typically below the profile band. But in 2008 this has been cut off with the mview not being large enough. (Yes some companies locate the stationing else ware and if you do then ignore this flaw and go to flaw two).

The workaround: is to add an additional Phantom band that is say .1in high and is on a no plot layer and put this right below the EG/FG band and just below the Stationing. This will force C3D to cut the mviews just big enough to see the stationing but since it is on a no-plot layer you will not see anything in your final plot.

2.) Now after you create your P&P, have a look at the EG and FG profile that is brought in, where is it in the Profile View?.................. At the bottom! Not near the top where it normally is located.  If have imported your piping this may not be the case, but if you have no piping then this will be the case.

The workaround is to right click on each profile view and manually change the datum and profile view height for each and every newly created profile view.  Not fun!

So there you have it! Two newly found flaws in C3D 2008.  Not major but a little annoying!
