I found a problem with the description keys in 2008 and I have a fix!

New 2008 work around/fix:  I found a problem with the description keys in 2008. I had a template from 2007 with description keys that I ported over to 2008 and when I tested it with a .txt file I found that all of the symbols/blocks/markers scaled up an additional scale factor of 16? Yes sixteen, not 12 as in the past with the inches to feet factor but 16? No idea but that is what it does.

Well the work around until AD fixes this is one that made no sense at all?

What I found was that in the description key there is a column that says “Use drawing scale” well of course I have set in the point style for each description key the marker size to use the drawing scale and apply preset size of 0.1”.  Which to me means this should automatically scale up based on the current drawing scale? Which is does, but I found that if the “Use Drawing Scale” is set to yes then the key scales up the symbols/blocks/markers an additional factor of 16? Again where the sixteen comes from I have no idea?  But if I toggle the “Use Drawing Scale” to NO then all is well!

So I think what is happening here is that C3D is applying the scale twice.  Sort of? I had the drawing scale set to 1=20 but the blocks where scaling up to 320 or 20x16 or an additional 16.  Again no idea why?  I also found that if I toggled off the “Apply X-Y” this fix it too.  Go figure?
