How the heck do you edit the datum of a pt group?
How the heck do you edit the datum of a pt group?
This has come up in discusion a couple of times so I thought I would look into it and see just how the heck do we do something that was really simple in LDT.
We'll fist I did a search on a few of the well known Civil 3D blogs and even AUtodesk's web site and found nothing? What I can't believe that only my customers have had this question?
So I called one of my AD gurus and guess what? he came up with simple workaround! We still can't rotate a pt group or move the pt group but we can atleast change the datum of the pt group.
How you ask?
We'll first you need a pt group, then you will need to go to your Prospector tab and find this pt group, then right click on it and go to Edit pts... now the pamoramma will come up... do a shift highlight on all of the pts and then do a right click and you'll see one of the options is Datum! Well hidden I might add! Now click on Datum and then down on your command line is the Change in Elevation. Type in your datum change +/- and bamm we are now done. Not a simple as LDT but the job is now done and AD knows they need a better way!
P.S. It been way too long since my last posting! Sorry for this just been so darn busy helping everyone out on the phone! And training!
