2009? Just what is the big deal!

Dallas Tech Camp 2009 is now over! What a week!

What was the buzz? The down and dirty...

1.)  The biggest new part of C3D 2009 would have to be the reworking of Data Shortcuts! Hand down this is the biggest new feature, well not really a new feature but the reworking of data shortcuts will go down as the biggest advancement in C3D for 2009. I will be showing this at our Roadshows.  This will essentially remove the Vault hurdle from the implementation process! You should still Vault but you can now efficiently get by will out if for the next couple of years while you company get comfortable with C3D and data shortcuts.

2.) The H&H, yes this was not new in 2009 but actually SP2 2008 but this was the first time we actually got any training and insight on the H&H.  If you currently have another H&H package you are paying for well stop! (Bentley will just love this) No need to pay extra for something you now get for free.  As of right now the integration into C3D is not complete but they are fully working on it as week speak and the sky is the limit. You must realize that you get one full license to their Gravity sewer, their pond design and there culvert/full design packages for free for each and every copy of C3D you now have on subscription!  One question for you? What are you paying now for you H&H? Is it free? Does it come with a yearly subscription fee? Thought so!

3.) LIDAR surveys. How many of you create surfaces from LIDAR surveys now? And how big are the point files? One Million? three Million? I saw a drawing with 15 million points! YES that is a 15 with 6 zeros!  The file was 107mb and the external .msi file (not sure if this is the actual extension?) was something like 1.2 gigs but the key here is that if it can do 15million I'm sure it can handle your one million without burping!  (The laptop had 3gigs) He was able to move around in the dwg, but not sure what else he could do!  That is just plain big.

4, 5 and etc well you will just need to come to one of our Road shows for the lowdown!

Oh and the big buzz was DOT's and C3D! Ask me about this at our road shows!

Until then! See ya latter..
